Collective discipline.

Doing what the team needs
without keeping score of who gets the credit.

Why it matters

Talent doesn't lose games. Falling apart does.

The strongest team isn't always the one with the most gifted players. It's the team still playing as one in the final ten minutes, with everyone holding the standard, even in the work nobody applauds.

Personal ambition is the hidden danger: the urge to be right, to be seen, to do things your own way. In the 2017 Super Bowl, the Patriots were down 28 to 3. They didn't wait for one hero to save them. Every player trusted the plan and did their job. Nobody gave up on it, and they won in overtime.

This kind of teamwork is tested when the chance to stand out tempts you to go it alone. It's what keeps a team pulling in one direction when drifting apart would be easier.
